How to blend from Video to Video in Final Cut Pro X

Am a beginner but cant seem to find any help in youtube or here.

i Have two videos.

and i want, at the end of the first video lets say there is 5 second left, the first video to blend to second one, so it doesnt chnage right after from one to second video you know?

I Want the 2nd video to slowly overlay and when the 5 second is done there will only be the 2nd video.

hope i was clear to explain what i want to do.

please help me out, if you know a tutorial video on this please give me the link or just let me know what to do.

SSounds like you want a transition. A basic cross dissolve should do what you want.

SO that effect is called cross dissolve? Is it it fcp already that transition or i have to downlod? Is there video on that?

IIt's the default transition. Select the edit point and cross Cmd-T.

Sorry am very new to mac.. Ok so by edit point you mean like i should get the two tracks close to eachother and select like 5 sec of one and 5 second of the other one, so the selection would be 10 overall from both. and just cmd -t correct? Sorry if am wrong

Click on the line between the two clips. If you want a five second cross dissolve you will need to have at least that amount of extra material available for the shots in addition to the material edited into the timeline.

You should read or look at some basic tutorials about using the application. Need to look up basic information about handles in FCP.

Got it. it wokrs now. I was searching, but i didnt see anyone show in youtube. But i just wanted this, since i dont really use much effects just basic stuff. But i would look some others up and see whats helpful. Thanks a lot
