After loading this latest update to OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, SMS messages no longer work. I get the message Not Delivered. I use the Try Again option, but it still doesn't work. It was working before this latest update on my iMac (27-inch, Late 2012).

Hello SandraLowe,

Thanks for posting on the Apple Support Communities. I see that after updating to 10.11.6 you are no longer able to send SMS messages from your Mac. I know that I love sending iMessages and SMS messages from my Mac. I will be more than happy to help.

Take a look at this article:

In particular, take a look at the Set up SMS and MMS messaging part. Lets make sure that both your Mac and iPhone are using the same Apple ID under “Send and Receive.” Then on the iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding. Find your Mac, and turn it off, then restart your iPhone. Once the iPhone is back on turn the Text Message Forwarding back on.

Take care!
