Q: How do I trust an app?

I Downloaded a certain app for Pokemon Go but it says I have to trust the app before I can use it. So how will I be able to trust it? I've done it before but now I have to do it a different way and I can't figure it iut

    Control-Click on the app

    Select Open from the pop-up list

    You will told the app was downloaded from the internet, and ask if you really want to launch it.

    Say yes

     

    The next time you try to run it, OS X will remember your original answer and allow it to run.

    if you got it from the App Store, it's safe.

    & I do not think you get the message asking you to ok the app.

    If you did not download the app from the Apple App Store then you likely should NOT trust it.  Doing so is exactly how to infect your Mac with a trojan.

     

    If you had downloaded the app from the app store then it would not be asking for you to trust the app.  Gatekeeper is trying hard to protect you so make sure that the app that you are trying to run is from a respected and trustworthy developer before following the simply instructions that others have given here to bypass Gatekeeper.
