iOS 10 - Major battery issues using LTE on T-Mobile network

I lose about 30-40% charge after upgrading to iOS 10, in about an hour of commute, driving to work. Surely this cannot be normal. There's a lot of people who are facing the same issue, but Apple seems least bothered to fix it. Worse, its for an iPhone which is less than an year old (iPhone 6S Plus).

Have also upgraded to iOS 10.0.2 and the issue still persists. Have also tried a full back and restore to no avail.
