Message Thread Disappeared

Hello, I opened up my messages to text a person I had been texting with two days ago and that persons name and messages are gone. I still have that person listed in my contacts but there is no history of our texts. I have all the other texts and names being shown from two days ago. I do not believe I would have hit edit and then accidentally deleted those texts. Any ideas?
