Q: Is there any way to cut down the flashing, animation, etc. on the Mac?

I have severe sensory processing issues and can't take the visual pain, from all the animation, flashing, etc. any more.

I also have severe coordination issues, and rsi.

I've bought a lot of accessibility software, like Claroview, Scroll+, and even Dragon for Mac, but I can't find any help with the visual pain, can't use certain prefpanes wthout sticking a book in front of the screen, and need alternatives to most standard software, such as a heavily modded Firefox instead of Safari, and something new instead of Mail.

I don't have the disk space to dual-boot with Linux, so I am trying to figure out what I can do.

Unfortunately some of the flashing is built into OS X's default text-handling tools.

Are there guides to solving accessibility problems in OS X? If I have to go back to Linux, are there guides to avoiding inaccessible hardware and solving accessibility problems there?

MacBook Air (11-inch Mid 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

I used to use "use grayscale" but since I now use Claroview, that really doesn't help.

I don't even have "reduce motion" in my accessibility preferences/display.

I can't find a clear explanation of what "use keyboard shortcuts to zoom" would do, but animated zooming effects, such as many websites, Google Pain, Orbis, etc. trigger my migraines. I can't try those functions if it means risking another nasty migraine.

I use "sticky keys" but I have a **** of a lot of trouble with it and need a more accessible accessibility fix for typing.

I can't use "enhanced dictation." It isn't compatible with "sticky keys," or with my accent.

I bought Dragon but can't use it either. It doesn't let me correct its mistakes. It sometimes jumps around, and deletes and overwrites stuff. It insists on Full Text Control, doesn't play well with other inputs, and doesn't let me disable full text control.

And I don't see anything to stop the accursed flashing paincursor.
