I tried to turn off the faces function in iPhoto through a command I found on apple communities and cut and paste into Terminal. Now the search capability in Mail is not functioning properly. How do I delete commands I've pasted into Terminal? I tried to delete them but when I went back in they are still there. Is deleting previous commands the right was to fix this problem.

Thanks Ptaxey for your reply but I'm not following what you are suggesting - do you mean 'undo' command from the drop down menu?
I tried back-spacing with the delete button but it's still there...what to do?

The first I entered was
defaults write com.apple.iPhoto PKFaceDetectionEnabled 0
Then today I tried fix it with
sqlite3 ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope\ Index vacuum
It kinda worked when I tried searching in mail but only showed me todays emails or from before the fatal date I entered the first code above in Terminal a week ago
I would go the radical way then and rebuild the Spotlight index, I think mail is a part of it.
There is no universal undo command but you can try to find the 'undo' command for your specific case.
