I tried back-spacing with the delete button but it's still there...what to do?

The first I entered was
defaults write com.apple.iPhoto PKFaceDetectionEnabled 0
Then today I tried fix it with
sqlite3 ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope\ Index vacuum
It kinda worked when I tried searching in mail but only showed me todays emails or from before the fatal date I entered the first code above in Terminal a week ago
