Q: dim wallpaper

I want to get rid of the gray mask my iPhone applies over my wallpapers on the home screen. My beautiful, bright photos I have taken with my iPhone are now dull and lack brilliance when I use them on my home screen as a wallpaper. I have tried turning the brightness up, but even with a wallpaper that is completely white in Photos it is gray as a wallpaper. I understand that having a completely white wallpaper could make the text and some part of some icons disappear, but I do not want an all white photo as my background, just one of my brilliant, bright, sharp photos. I have an iPhone 6s and am running iOS 10. Please allow an option in settings to keep or get rid of the mask in future updates if there is no current solution. Thank you.
