Q: ios 10.0.2 bluetooth bug

Having updated my iphone SE to ios 10.0.2., Bluetooth is still not working properly. The phone pairs with my car and immediately sets up a connection as if starting a call. Shutting off bluetooth on the phone (and back on) does not fix the problem. it sometimes help to switch off the phone and turn it back on again.

When can I expect a decent bugfix?

iPhone SE, iOS 10.0.2

And if you feel that way, you need to tell Apple, not me. Use the feedback link here, http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Maybe you don't need to go in to the car dealer.

For Ford SYNC updates in the past, I have done it this way: download from the web site to a USB thumbdrive, then take the thumbdrive and plug into the car for upload there.

But then again, I have a classic car (2010) so who knows what these new-fangled cars require...

Wander around on https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/how-tos/sync-services.html (a poorly designed web site) and you may eventually find the list of phones compatible with each version of SYNC for your car.  In my case, iPhone 7 is not (yet?) listed.

Yes sir, I realize that you are not the final word.  I just said "I hope you are wrong."

Thank you. I will look that up on the web. I have an older car too.  It is a 2011 Jaguar.  I'm pretty sure they charge you admission just to walk in the service department door at the dealership, much less getting a software update, lol.

So, I am expected to go to the car dealership and pay who knows how much to get my software updated in the car because Apple doesn't have software which works with all versions of Bluetooth. That is a completely unacceptable answer and I hope you are mistaken.

    Hi

All Bluetooth members are expected to support the latest protocols in their firmware and software, including Apple (which is a promoter member of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group / SIG), Associate members (which include many car manufacturers) and members in other categories.

If your car dealership wishes to charge you for updating your car's firmware / software to a version that supports the latest protocols, then you may wish to take that issue up with them.

I didn't have any problem with my cars bluetooth using previous iOS 8,9.  I also have a plantronic bt earpiece that works well in the past but that too has reception problem after iOS 10 upgrade.

my car is 2011 and Bluetooth has been working well in the past with many different kind of cell or smartphone. It even works with iPhone 6plus using IOS 9. So it's not a problem with the car Software.

Apparently they screws up the Bluetooth on iOS 10.0.2. its Apple's failure to make it Bluetooth compatible.

And you did contact AppleCare and/or send feedback using a much information as possible?

    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Be sure to include the car model, head unit model, version of BT, etc. if you can. BT and its various versions and profiles make the situation very complex and not all models will be affected.

Same here. I had no problem with IOS 9.  I wish I could revert back to the old version and wait for Apple to figure this out. As it is now, I cannot even use my handsfree in my car at all anymore.

Owners of new BMW are experiencing all kind of issues with iOS 10 and iPhone 7. I am sure most people who has problem either has difficulties reporting or silently wait out for a fix. I tried searching on Apple website for support everywhere I go it said my iPhone 6plus has ran out of support.

I am quite sure it's the new Bluetooth stack Apple has written for iOS 10 which is not quite backwards compatible to others except their own.

i have used the feedback link but I doubt I will ever get a response.
