Enabling Apple maps travel time notifications

After upgrading to the Iphone7 I no longer receive travel time notifications from Apple maps as I used to as soon as the phone connects to my car Bluetooth. My location services are on and my location history is noting the location. Does this just take a few weeks to begin working since it's a new phone or is there something that I haven't enabled?
