Q: .IPA Files & Noting Which Are On My iPhone For Re-Downloading
I am in a pickle.
My desktop pc died. I chose to use a laptop going forward. Placed iTunes on it. Of course the music and apps are not there yet but I ran into a wall.
For apps. You cannot back up apps with iOS 10. So I cannot have my iPhone download them bacl to my iTunes library on the laptop. I did save an external drive with all 3,000 apps I've collected over the years. The problem is picking out which ones from the external drive are the current ones I have on my iPhone. Some are easy to tell...others not so much. I can also redownload them from the iStore through past purchased but that'll take forever and even then won't have the apps no longer available in the store. Any thoughts on this one? How to back them up? How to be efficient about it vs. redownloading them all? I even tried 'transfer purchases' but that did nothing.
For music. Dragged by backed up library of music over but now I have multiple versions of the same artist but I've already done the 'get info' to get them all corrected at the same time but they still show up separately. Thinking of using a third party program to repopulate iTunes from my iPhone and hoping for better results. For now, I deleted iTunes completely.
Fingers crossed this makes sense to someone. Thanks for any advice. Matt.
