Q: How can I reduce the spacing between the notes on Page?

Hi,

I wondered how can I reduce the spacing between the notes in Page? The think is that I have several notes and each are inside their own squares, but the spacing between those notes/squares is too big, how can I reduce it? The thing is that I have a document to hand out to my professor, and she wants me to have spacings in-between the lines of my text, but she asked me to delete the ones that have been created in-between the notes.

Thanks!

    Howdy Paprii.ka,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

From your post I understand that you want to either reduce the line spacing in a Pages document of yours, or adjust the page margins.  Instructions for both of these can be found below:

    Set document margins

    1. Click the Document tab at the top of the sidebar on the right.

If you don’t see a sidebar, or the sidebar doesn’t have a Document tab, click Document button in the toolbar

    2. In the Document Margins section, click the arrows or enter values in the fields next to Top, Bottom, Left, and Right.

    Change paragraph margins

    1. Select one or more paragraphs, or press Command-A to select all paragraphs in the document.

    2. Do any of the following:

      •

In the ruler, drag the margin marker (the blue triangle) to where you want it.

      •
      •

Click the Style button near the top of the sidebar, then click one of the default indent buttons in the Alignment section to increase or decrease the indent of an entire paragraph.

If you don’t see a sidebar, or the sidebar doesn’t have a Layout button, click Format button in the toolbar. If the text is in a text box, table, or shape, first click the Text tab at the top of the sidebar, then click the Layout button.

    Adjust the space between lines

    1. Select one or more paragraphs, or select the text in a text box, shape, or table.

    2. Click the Style button near the top of the sidebar on the right.

If you don’t see a sidebar, or the sidebar doesn’t have a Style button, click Format button in the toolbar. If the text is in a text box, table, or shape, first click the Text tab at the top of the sidebar, then click the Style button.

    3. Do one of the following:

      •

To apply standard spacing, click the pop-up menu to the right of Spacing, then choose an option.

The Spacing pop-up menu with Single, Double, and other options

If you don’t see these options, click the disclosure triangle next to Spacing to see them (to close the disclosure triangle).

      •

For finer control over the spacing, click the pop-up menu below Spacing, then choose an option (if you don’t see a pop-up menu below Spacing, click the disclosure triangle to expand it):

        •

Lines: The distance between ascenders (parts of letters that extend to the top of the line) and descenders (parts of letters that extend below the line) stays the same. The space between lines is proportional to the font size.

        •
        •

At least: The distance between lines stays fixed (but lines don’t overlap if the text gets large). The distance from one line to the next will never be less than the value you set, but it may be larger for larger fonts to prevent overlapping text lines.

        •
        •

Exactly: The value sets the precise distance between text baselines, which may result in some overlap.

        •
        •

Between: The value you set increases the space between the lines, instead of increasing the height of the lines. By contrast, double-spacing doubles the height of each line.

    4. Click the arrows next to the spacing field to set the amount of space for the option you chose.

    5. To adjust the amount of space before and after the selected paragraph, click the arrows for Before Paragraph and After Paragraph.

    Cheers.
