Q: Problem: watching videos on MacBook Air Original (A1237)

Hello,

I've got an old MacBook Air Original (A1237) from 2008 that I would like to use at school to take notes and relaxing (when possible) on the internet, but there are some problems.

The most annoying one is that I can't watch videos on it. What I mean is that if I try to watch something on the internet (like a film) I notice that it starts to lag. I hear the audio before the actual image comes on the screen. Sometimes even the audio freezes. This happens after 15-20 minutes from the beginning. The internet connection isn't the problem because every other device works fine.

I thought it was something related to thermal throttling so I canghed the 8 year old thermal compound and cleaned the fan. I lost 20° celsius in idle, but the problem remains. After doing that I installed a programm that allowed me to monitor temperatures and change the fan speed that I set to 6200rpms (only under heavy usage). The problem still remains.

However I noticed that the temperature goes from 30° celsius in idle,to maximum 75° while surfing on the internet/watching videos,to a maximum peak of 95° when I tried to render a clip (just for a test purpose).

Honestly I'm quite puzzled by all this. Can I somehow solve this problem? I'd only like to watch a film, after all
