Photostream not working after Sierra upgrade

I've noticed after upgrading to Sierra, that my Photo stream on the Macbook is not working anymore.

When i login to www.icloud.com i can see that there are new photos being uploaded from my iPhone to the iCloud, but not to my Macbook, no new Photos have been showing in Photos on my Mac. I tried login/out my iCloud account on the Macbook and iPhone, but nothing has changed.

Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS Sierra (10.12)

Start by providing details

What are your iCloud settings on your Mac and on each IOS device and if you are using iCloud Photo Library what is its status on each device

Your post is confusing - you can not see or access MyPhotoStream on icloud.com - on iCloud.com/Photos you see iCloud Photo Library photos only - and if a device has not completed uploading to ICPL it does not download photos

So to help we need to know what services you are using and what their status is

Hi Larry,

Thx for the fast reply

here are my iCloud settings on the mac(s.screenshot for Photo), i did not change them, with El Capitano everything was working fine.

User uploaded file

on the iPhone everything is also enabled under iCloud.

No i can see MyPhotoStream on iCloud.com. if i take a Photo with my iPhone and then go to www.icloud.com i can see the Photos, meaning the iPhone is syncing(uploading) the Photos to the cloud. The Problem is with the Photo App on my MacBook, i can not see the new Photos anymore under MyPhotoStream, i can still see the old ones before i did the upgrade, but not the new ones. It is as if since the upgrade the Photo App is not fetching the new Photos from the cloud anymore.

But that is iCloud Photo Library you are seeing there, not My Photo Stream.

iCloud Photo Library is a different service. It does not tell you, if My Photo Stream is uploading to iCloud.

Does the reverse direction work? If you import a new photo to your Photos Library on your Mac, does it appear on your iPhone?

hmmm i do not want to upload my Photo Library from my Macbook, so basically importing new photos on my macbook, will not get them uploaded to the cloud(that is the option i want). And it was like that in El Capitano and Yosemtie. What is now not working(after the upgrade) is "MyPhotoStream" in the Photo App on my Macbook, it does not show anymore the new pictures i took with my iPhone (but i can see the new pictures under www.icloud.com)

e (but i can see the new pictures under www.icloud.com)

And that means that your setup is not symmetric. You have iCloud Photo Library enabled on the iPhone, or you would not be seeing the iPhone photos there. Why are you using iCloud Photo Library on the iPhone? To transfer the photos to the Mac "My Photo Stream" should suffice on the iPhone.

I had the same problem after upgrading to macOS Sierra and found the following work for me:

In Photos open Preferences… and make sure the button Use as System Photo Library (right under the path to your library) is pressed (greyed out). Unless it is, My Photo Stream will not appear in your sidebar under Albums. (Don't ask me why.)

I have read through every post in this (and related threads), but none of the suggested fixes worked (e.g., quite Photo Agent in Activity Monitor, etc etc). The ONLY thing that worked was:

1. Open Photos on your Mac

2. In Photos, go to Preferences>iCloud

3. Disable "iCloud Photo Library" (I have it enabled on my iPhone –

so I just disabled it for the time being on my Mac)

4. Then disable "My Photo Stream"

5. Wait a few minutes and then select/enable "My Photo Stream" again

6. In Photos left tray, select the "My Photo Stream" icon.

... at this point I FINALLY, since upgrading to Sierra, seeing my iPhone pics getting downloaded (somewhat slowly) to my Mac. Granted it's going slowly, but I've had no synching for a month.
