iOS 10 not finding home wifi network

Since upgrading both my iPhone 6plus and my iPad to IOS 10, they no longer automatically find my home network when I return home. I have to explicitly try to connect to my home network each time I get home. This was always automatic prior to upgrading to IOS 10. Is there some new setting I need to look for to resume the expected behavior? Instead of listing my home network to connect to, both the iPhone and iPad list all of my neighbors' networks, but not my own until I select "other" and type in the network name. Suggestions would be appreciated.

The problem is not that I cannot connect, but that the connection does not occur automatically as it used to. It seems that there was some change in IOS 10 that makes it no longer work automatically.

Have you tried 'forget this network'? Then reconnect to your WiFi manually. Hope that fixes the automatic switching to WiFi.

Same on my 5S, I've tried a number of tricks that were listed online for older versions of iOS. Including forget this network, then reentering it among others. 99% chance if you rollback to iOS9 the problem is resolved, which means it's a bug. I haven't done that yet but I'm getting close to doing so.

Only solution: restore back to iOS9.

Regarding wireless network, works on my iOS9 devices on my 5Ghz 802.11N wireless. Also, I have the latest of the best firmware for consumer grade networks, Tomato by Shibby on an Asus router. It's rock solid with everything else in the house.

I wouldn't suggest anyone spend too much time chase your tail on this one too much, Apple failed on some QA.

This seemed to work for a while, but apple just released another update, and the same problem is back again. Am I going to need to forget and reconnect to the WiFi network every time Apple releases a new IOS update?
