Q: time machine blocks mail?

On my MAC AIR s/n CO2M71MSF6T6 with Sierra 10.12 I run TC s/n C86RG0LYF9H5 2 TB. TC is connected on Pos. 3 GB, Ethernet, LAN. My main activity is with Aperture. I frequently reload old Versions from Aperture. Occasionally I cannot receive mail. A message cannot sende mail ends up in my waste basket. A Second user on my time Capsule reports occasionally statements of another user (my own one). Is my Installation correct? Does my provider Cable Com need to do something? Who is causing trouble?

If the TC is connected to the main modem router provided by your ISP.. and is bridge mode.. as it should be for this setup.. but your computer is connected to the main router's wifi instead of the TC, it can fail in a number of ways. There maybe some dropping in and out.

Sierra is proving the typical Apple half baked pie.. with lots of networking issues particularly reported with the TC.

I would reset the TC to factory and redo its configuration from airport utility in Sierra OS.

If it is bridged then try and maintain a static IP either directly in the TC on its internet tab or via dhcp reservation in your main router.. you will need your manual to find out how to do that.

If this worked ok before Sierra and has become problematic since.. it is very clear where the trouble lies.
