Q: Why are there black lines on homescreen wallpaper my iPhone 7 Plus?

I see small black lines on the homescreen wallpaper of my iPhone 7 Plus with iOs 10.0.2.  When you tilt the phone, the lines tilt with it.  When you take a screenshot of it, they also show. When you use any still image or photo, the lines also appear only at the homescreen.

But when I try a live wallpaper, these don't show up.  Also when i open an app or browse the net, there are no lines.

Already tried resetting the iPhone but lines would still be there.

Thank you

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.0.2, null

    Hello drugarcia01,

Thanks for asking about your iPhone 7 Plus and lines on the screen here in the Apple Support Communities. First, let me congratulate you on your new iPhone! We want every customer to have the best experience with their devices. I am happy to check this out and offer some things to try to get your new iPhone working as you would expect it to.

The first thing we want to ensure is that all your data is safe. You can make a backup in iCloud or iTunes using this article : How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Thank you for telling me that you have tried resetting your iPhone but the lines remain there. The next step I would like you to do is to restore your device back to factory settings using iTunes. This option will erase all the data on your device. Please ensure you have your backup completed prior to doing this step. The reason we need to use iTunes to do this step is because we need iTunes to help install a fresh version of iOS. This help article from Apple will help you to do this step: Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings. If you did attempt this already, and even used iTunes, I would still like to try it once more but this time, please ensure you set the device up as new, and do not restore any information from an iCloud or iTunes backup yet.

Once the device is set up as new, you will test to see if the screen still has lines. If this issue is no longer happening, we know the there was an issue with some data on the device or in the iOS version, which will most likely be saved in your backups. You can manually bring back your data using iCloud or iTunes, but do not restore from the backup as you will bring the problem right back in. Once you log back in to iCloud with the same Apple ID that you used previously, all your data saved in iCloud will start repopulating on the device. Depending on whether you have a Mac or PC, you can use one of these two help articles to assist you in getting your music and other data back to your device from iTunes:

    1. iTunes 12 for Mac: Sync iPod, iPhone, or iPad

    2. iTunes 12 for Windows: Sync iPod, iPhone, or iPad

You can also redownload fresh copies all of your previous purchases using this article: Download your past purchases. Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.
