Upgrade from OS X 10.5

Hi,

I want to know if it is possible to upgrade a MacBook Pro 5.1 (Late 2008) from Leopard without buying Snow Leopard.

My issue is I don't know if Apple can send the dvd to my country.

I prefer the email code that is possible with Lion or Mountain Lion but they need Snow Leopard or Lion.

Does it exist another way to buy other version of Mac OS X till El Capitan the last supported by the laptop?

Hi harilala,

I understand that you're curious about the options available to you to upgrade to newer versions of Mac OS X. I know it's important to have up to date software, so I'm happy to help.

Any update beyond OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is downloaded directly from the Mac App Store. Because the Mac App Store was introduced during Snow Leopard, it is required to have that upgrade installed first, which requires a disc.
