Q: Unlock Mac with Apple Watch

I have followed all the correct steps to unlock my mac with my apple watch but it still isn't working for me. I just get a spinning wheel on the login screen and no red notification dot on the watch

Make sure your Mac's OS X is up to date. Open the App Store then select Updates from the menu.

Same for your Apple Watch. Open the Watch app on your iPhone then tap General > Software Update
