Q: disc space

disc space always saying full, cannot update my mac at all? dont know how to use an external memory/hard drive?, think its my itunes music etc thats taking up all the space is there any way i can solve this?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

What's the difference between a "disc" and a "disk?" - https://support.apple.com/HT201697 - optical cf. magnetic.

 

Get info on your iTunes folder and see how much space it takes up.  If it is the culprit then you may need to move the library to an external drive.  This isn't at all unusual since people want small computers which have inadequate storage but there's a glut of digital media.
