Q: iOS 10 upgrade & hanging up a phone call
I am requesting the Apple engineers to change the way one hangs up a phone call after the "auto-lock" has timed out on the new iOS10 upgrade. Prior to the iOS10 upgrade, if the screen auto-locked because your phone call ran longer than what you have the timer set for, you simply had to hit the home button and the phone screen popped up and you could hit the Red Phone Icon to hang up on the phone call. After the iOS10 upgrade, if the screen auto-locks, you have to hit the home button, log into the phone, touch the green banner at the top of the screen, which then brings up the phone screen, which you can then hit the red phone icon to hang up on the call. All of these additional steps are very time consuming and annoying when you want to hang up a call ... more important it is very dangerous if one is driving and wants to hang up on a call.
One suggested way to fix the issue from Apple Support is to change the auto-lock timer to "never". This is not a fix as the display consumes battery and the whole reason to auto-lock is to save energy. This is a very annoying issue for people who spend a lot of their day placing calls with their phones, which I do and others I work with do as well. The fix is really simple, please bring back the way it used to work prior to the iOS10 upgrade.
Please correct the user experience / usage issue.
