Q: Plugin <FCPXLLutLoader>: Failed to render

I have a new iMAC running FCPX. Everything running perfectly. I updated to MAC OS Sierra 10.2 and now when I open a video file I have a faded stamp across all videos that says Plugin <FCPXLLutLoader>: Failed to render  Any suggestions? Thanks!

Due to their unscrupulous history, I'd never touch anything from Pixel Film Studio, not even for free.

They used to charge for their LUT Loader. CoreMelt came out with LUTx for free.

Thanks for that bit of feedback BenB. My only experience with PFS had been the Lut Loader. I was tempted to try some of the other plugins but never got around to it until pulling the trigger on Colorist (which I didn't get to use).

Do you have any experience with Color Grading Central stuff, more specifically Color Finale?

    Thanks

Not BenB, but I will say it's an excellent product. There's an upgraded version scheduled to come out soon.

Thanks for the feedback Tom Wolsky. I'm entering into the trial period of Color Finale and learn as much as possible. If the new version adds value, I will gladly purchase. Happy grading!

I was in the middle of a big editing project and I upgraded to Sierra (simply to get Siri) on my laptop. (Which does not work either) Anyways, I got all the "failed to Render" notices on all of my clips. After reading all the posts here I decided to contact Pixel via email and got a response back in about an hour. They said there is a way for it Lud Loader to work with Sierra so I tried it and it DOES WORK.... for NEW edits. It does NOT seem to work backwards with previous edits.

So I will still need to RE-Color Correct my work, ugg. Here is their email back to me and the instructions if you still wanted to use the program for future projects....

We are sending you new download links created for Sierra LUT LOADER users. They now include three installers. The first installer should run with no issues. The second installer will not work for Sierra users at this time so you will have to install it manually. Access the plugin folder inside the download package titled Motion Templates inside should be a folder titled Effects. Open up the Effects folder, highlight the Pixel Film Studios - FCPX LUT LOADER folder inside and hit Command-C to copy. Now open up a separate finder window and navigate to your Movies folder. Inside Movies there will be a folder called Motion Templates and inside Motion Templates a folder called Effects. Paste the Pixel Film Studios - FCPX LUT LOADER folder inside Effects. Now, simply run the third installer and restart Final Cut.

Unfortunately, if the updated download does not refresh your failed to render luts when you reinstall then I don't think there's another way around re-editing. We wish this wasn't the case. The Sierra update has caused quite a large amount of issues for developers.
