Oct 3, 2016 2:03 PM in response to imveloby spykster,I was using DHCP with manual address before, and it is setting subnet mask as 255.255.255.255. I don't know if this behavior is new in Sierra.
What worked for me is,
- On the source (a MacBook Pro), I left the configuration to "Using DHCP" (mostly because I rarely connect from the iMac to the MacBook and do not care about the static IP there). Subnet mask got set to 255.255.0.0 automatically.
- On the destination mac (an iMac), setting the "Configure IPv4" to manually, setting the IP address to what I want, and then setting subnet mask to 255.255.0.0 (this is the subnet mask my MacBook shows)
I did this after deleting and recreating Thunderbolt Bridge interface on both iMac and MacBook.
