ios10 issue with messaging non-iphone users

After updating my iPhone 6 to ios10, I've been having intermittent issues with messaging Android users (basically, non-iMessage conversations). In about 60% of the time it just doesn't deliver the message no matter what I do (pressing the "Try Again" not working). It has no issues with receiving the texts, but I cannot reply to Android users (interestingly, I can message Android users if they are in a group text with iPhone users). I've tried everything from updating to the latest verision down to factory reset of the whole ios.

I can't find anything online about it. Am I the only one with whom this is happening?

No you're not the only one. I'm experiencing the same issue. Even contacted tech support for help. Got the same answer blaming or passing the buck to my carrier provider. It's total nonsense when the apple iPhone software worked perfectly fine until the latest update to 10.0.2. I mean really?!? You do an upgrade without perceiving these issues?!? Give me a break! Heard talk that the "glitch" was intentional so you have to call your carrier who then charges more for the service to text android users. It's a fraudulent racket and scam! It shouldn't be allowed!

I hate to debunk part of your theory, but if using AT&T, your carrier version (Settings>General>About>Carrier) should be 25.0. Also, If you go to Settings>Cellular>Cellular Data Options>Enable LTE, and I have my AT&T device set to Voice & Data and have not experienced any issues sending SMS or MMS. If you are having trouble with LTE for voice, then it is possible that your area service does not support LTE for that, and you would need to discuss that with AT&T.
