I have tried disconnecting my MacBook from the charger but this doesn't make any difference, it still makes the whirring sound when I plug it back in.

Every time I connect the power adapter to my MacBook Pro it makes a whirring sound. I have tried disconnecting the power to see if that makes a difference but it when I plug it back in it makes the same whirring sound. I would like to know what is causing this to happen and how I can fix it.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), iOS 10.0.2

Hi there dadsie,

It sounds like you are unable to plug in the power adapter for your MacBook Pro without some sort of whirring sound coming from the computer. If this is something coming from the speakers, I would reset your SMC first:

Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

If that does not do it, can you elaborate as to whether or not this sound is indeed coming from the speakers or is it coming from a particular section of the computer and seems physical? Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
