How do I delete photos from my iPhone 6s without them being deleted from my laptop

Hello all,

I've been struggling with space on my iphone for quite some time now and I'd like to delete some pictures and videos to make space. However, whenever I delete them from my phone, the next time I look at my computer they are also gone. I thought that my computer would save my photos? I assume it is some kind of iCloud settings mistake but I can't seem to figure it out. Thank you for your help.

Are you looking at your iCloud photo library from your laptop by any chance?

Did you ever connect the phone to the laptop and copy (or import) the photos to your laptop? That's the only way to keep them in your computer for good.

I am looking in "Photos" under "All Photos"

I connect the phone relatively often. I thought I was importing photos. Is there a way to import all of them to be safe?
