Q: Mac Sierra Quicktime?

I cannot access quicktime after updating to Sierra for some reason.  I get the following dialogue box (attached).  I even downloaded the latest quicktime from the app store.  Does anyone know why?Screen Shot 2016-09-27 at 12.54.06 PM.png

    Hi LauraMackie,

I use quicktime frequently and I can understand being confused by the dialog box.

It is normal for the App to open this way when you are not opening a specific video file. If you want to open a specific file you can use the dialog to open it. or you can close the dialog window then click on "file" in the menu bar to make a new audio or video recording.

    Cheers.
