Q: Changed password for my email, Mail does not recognise new password.
Hello all.
Firstly I know how this may look, but yes I have retyped the new password a hundred times, its definitely correct as it works on my 1and1 webmail.
When I try to email from Mail on my Macbook Pro (El Capitan 10.11.5) it goes straight to my Outbox and an error box pops up 'Can't connect to the account "myemail". Enter the password for user "myemail". then the error message reads - Unable to verify account name or password
I actually have two 1and1 emails, so I tried deleting one of the accounts and re installing it, as a test to see if a whole restart might work, regretted that decision quite quickly, straight away it didn't recognise the password, and now its an empty Mail account.
I'm now using the 1and1 webmail.
My other email addresses (gmail and icloud) are working fine, I actually changed both of their passwords too without any hiccups. Any ideas?
