Seagate External Hard Drive

Since upgrading to Sierra, my Macbook will not recognize when my Seagate 4TB External Hard Drive is connected (no issues prior to the upgrade). Another issue is that when I click the Finder icon in the tray, a finder window pops up, then the whole screen goes black momentarily, then comes back up with all icons, but the finder window is now gone.

Most likely you used the Seagate software to format the drive. Check with Seagate to see if they have updated their drivers. Do you see the drive in Apple's Disk Utility. Open Disk Utility in Applications/Utilities. If yes, you can erase and format the drive. Copy off the data first.

In the future, always use Apple's Disk Utility to erase and format the drive.

If you don't use the drive with a PC, you don't need to update the Paragon NTFS driver.
