Q: Apple Pay Haptic feedback stopped?

I am running the Apple Watch (original) and updated to WatchOS 3.

I've noted the haptic feedback when paying by Apple Pay has stopped. I'm not sure if its since updating to Watch OS 3 or not. I have it set to the highest haptic level with prominent haptics.

The haptic works in the settings but I feel like its not working randomly on other notifications.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Apple Watch, watchOS 3

    Howdy txchou,

I understand that you're no longer noticing any haptic feedback when making payments via Apple Pay on your Apple Watch, and potentially for other notifications as well. A good first step when experiencing trouble with your Apple Watch is to Restart your Apple Watch by holding the side button, then dragging the slider to Power Off when it appears.

If you continue to notice a lack of haptic feedback during the normal use and wear, consider whether your Apple Watch fits snugly on your wrist. If there's any separation between your wrist and the back of the watch you may not feel any haptic feedback (especially as you turn your wrist over to make payments).

For the best haptic results, the back of your Apple Watch needs skin contact. Use a snug, but comfortable fit

Change the audio and notification settings on your Apple Watch

Thanks for replying. I was just wondering if it was a wide-scale issue or related to watchOS 3. I have already tried restarting and the watch is definitely snug on my wrist. I have also tried various alert volumes and haptic levels but all to no avail. At one point the haptic didn't even work when in the Settings area but a restart solved that. Unfortunately, the problem always seems to return after a day or so. The haptic issue has persisted for at least a week or two.

The fact that it comes back after a restart only to later stop working again suggests that it is possibly software related. It might just be a faulty haptic engine. I'll do one more restart and if it happens again then I'll visit the the Apple Store people and ask if there are any known bugs with the batch this watch came from.

    Thanks again for the reply!
