Q: Does Sierra support dual booting with Boot Camp? Thumbed thru 25 pgs. Did not see any direct threads or answers.

Need Microsoft Windows installation to run Microsoft "Access" which isn't available to OX. Before I attempt to install OX 10.0.2 does anyone know if it supports dual booting with BootCamp or similar? Thanks!

Boot Camp creates a Windows partition on the internal drive, and enables the computer to be switched between Mac OS X and Windows, but not to have both OSes running at the same time; products such as VirtualBox do.

Yes. It does. As noted in https://www.apple.com/macos/how-to-upgrade/ ,

    Boot Camp

Supports existing Boot Camp installations with Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10. New Boot Camp installations require Windows 8 or Windows 10 (sold separately).

Please see http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/ and How to install Windows using Boot Camp - Apple Support .

Bootcamp Windows can also be imported in Virtual Machine engines to get the best of both worlds.

Thanks Niel, more directly, does Sierra include BootCamp? That's what I'm asking. There have been rumors Apple is going to discontinue support for dual booting. Just wondering if this OX supported dual boots. Thanks!

Yes it works. Be advised, however, that the Bootcamp partitioning process in Sierra takes a long, long time compared to prior OS versions. When I first tried it after a clean install of Sierra, it appeared to hang in the "partitioning stage" for more than 2 hours. I finally manually killed the process. VERY BAD MOVE ON MY PART. Ended up having to take my Mac into the Apple Store to have them use their special tools to recover the lost partition -- basically had to specially wipe and restore the entire drive and reload a fresh version of Sierra.  So, when I got home and tried again, I just waited and waited during the partitioning phase. Took about 2.5 hours, but came out just fine.  Happy camper now (pun intended).
