Restoring from Time Machine, most alias icons are broken?

I recently restored the system from Time Machine, but my aliases (mostly) have broken images. If I copy the aliases, they're all fixed, but I can't exactly do that for every alias on the machine! Restoring aliases from Time Machine seems to have the same effect.

Is there any way to kick it to fix this?

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 11", mid 2013, i7 1.7, 8GB RAM

I tried several solutions, clearing cache solved it:

sudo rm -rf /Library/Caches/*

sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/*

Reboot

If I knew which specific cache held the broken icon images, that would have been better. It turned out that only some of the specific sizes were broken, which is why the icons would seem to show up and then vanish again on another page.
