Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand from your post that you do not see the attachment icon on emails, cannot preview items by pressing the spacebar and cannot save any of your files to your downloads files after updating to macOS Sierra. I recommend testing the issue while your Mac is in Safe Mode and/or in a new user account. The following articles have the steps you will need to test the issue in both Safe Mode and in a new user account:Try safe mode if your Mac doesn‘t finish starting up
Starting up in safe mode
Follow these steps to start up into safe mode.
- Start or restart your Mac.
- Immediately after you hear the startup sound, press and hold the Shift key.
- Release the Shift key when you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.
How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac
Best Regards.

Did you still have the same issues when you tried it in another user account too? If so, the next step would be to repair the disk using Disk Utility. The steps to use Disk Utility to run first aid and repair your hard drive are provided in the link below:
Disk Utility for Mac: Repair a disk using Disk Utility
