Q: Edit face's name tied to contact/ tie face to a contact

I have a list of names in the Contacts app. I also have a bunch of photos with people from this list (with manually added keywords like "Jim White"). Now the problem is, when Photos detects a face, and I tell it "It is Jim White from my contacts", the app creates a face named simply "Jim". As a result, I either have photos with both "Jim" and "Jim White" keywords or correctly named face that I can't tie to a contact. Any way to rename contact's face, or attach face to a contact?

Tell Apple your desires - that is the way it appears to work although I've not seen any witten documentation of that

Currently not.  Your work-around with keywords is the best to deal with this usuability problem. Without the keyword or the full name in the description there is no way at all to  retrieve the full name of a person from the Photos Library, if the person is in your Contacts. Neither the Info panel nor the Person album of that person will show the full name anywhere. That makes it pretty useless as a record of the  names of persons in the photos.
