If you can connect an iPod then probably you can connect an iPad though I don't know that that helps with 500 GB of media. Some cars can use media directly off flash drives but I don't know about what they would do when faced with 500 GB of music and hundreds of thousands of tracks

If your iPad has wireless capability, you should be able to stream all your music via iTunes Match — but that only gets us as far as the iPad. As Limnos and KiltedTim note, the rest is between you and your car stereo.
