Bring Back Gapless Tag for Albums Please

It's incredibly frustrating when Apple just pulls a feature out of an application.

After a bunch of research, have learned that adding a Gapless playback tag for albums better enjoyed without pauses between tracks (concept albums, concerts, etc), Apple has just removed this feature in iTunes 11 and later.

Recommendations to use Crossfade are both substandard and inconvenient.

Can't they just put this valuable feature back in? I'm sort of losing my patience with these random iTunes directions.
