Q: Mac Pro Display Problems

Help!

I have a Mac Pro in my living room, the most recent model.  I would like to use this in two ways:

1) Connected to a monitor 5m away

2) Connected to a 4k TV with 4k amplifier

My first problem occurs when I connect the Pro to the amplifier and onto the TV.  This is connected by a mini display to HDMI cable to Denon/avr-x2200w.  The video signal drops every 5 seconds (sound is fine), whereas all other connections to the Denon are fine (Sky/PS4/Xbox one ect).  To get around this, I plug a HDMI cable direct from the Pro to the Hisense 4k TV.  So i'm using two connections but it does work.

HOWEVER

If the above is connected, a third connection to a monitor - Dell UltraSharp U2414H - cuts off.  I can only get this signal to work via mini display to HDMI if the TV is not connected.

I cannot get both to work together.  What can i do?  Do I need new cables?  Should i connect the monitor via a Display Port rather than HDMI??

Hope someone knows what is going on.

    third connection to a monitor

The Mac supports at most TWO connections to "legacy" technology displays. (anything other than DisplayPort or its Mini DisplayPort variant.)

To add more than two (and the built-in HDMI counts a one if you use it) each additional adapter/converter must be an ACTIVE device, that contains signal re-driver Hardware. These devices are alway advertised and sold as ACTIVE to justify their higher prices, and unless it is sold as Active, it is not very likely to be ACTIVE.
