I am in San Francisco and was looking to purchase an iPhone 7. The one I want is only available in these carriers, not T-Mobile. So, is it possible to purchase an AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon iPhone 7 in store without a number? I live in another country and don't have a phone here. So, let me know if it is possible to walk-in and purchase.

You can buy an iPhone at any Apple Store (as long as it is in stock) with out signing up to a specific carrier. You must ask for an unlocked iPhone and pay full price on the spot. If you intend to use it on a GSM network you must buy the ATT/Tmobile version (Model A1778).
Beware that you will ONLY get warranty service in the US as the warranty is not international. If your phone needs service you will have to take it back to the US for service.
