Q: Macbook Pro (Late 2011) screen glitches

I have an 15" late 2011 MacBook Pro. 1,5 years ago my screen started having problems like glitches, no image via external display, reboots... Then I contacted Apple and they change my motherboard with this program -> http://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro-videoissues/

Today while I am working suddenly my external display goes black and when I started my MacBook, I only see white straps on the loading screen. It has all the symptoms with my previous GPU issue as Apple discribes at the above link:

  • Distorted or scrambled video on the computer screen
  • No video on the computer screen (or external display) even though the computer is on
  • Computer restarts unexpectedly

Apple drive employee ran hardware test program on my mac and the result is fine, they said they need the replace motherboard again but with a price.

What is your advice on this issue?

Thanks,

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12)

In order to get a gratis logic board replacement, the MBP has to fail a VST test.  If it passes the test  then there is an issue other than what the replacement program addresses.

    Ciao.

They said, they tested it with new motherboard and new ram, completely wipeout the sad and installed mavericks. But the same issue continues.

They said that, they will change the ssd and the screen but I am sure that this issue is related to graphic card. But they keep insisting gfx hardware check is successful.

Apple technicians are the experts, I am not.  They do the testing, I do not.  I cannot offer anything more.

    Ciao.
