Q: Logic Pro X Midi Pitch drifting ES2

Recently when I have been using a synth in Logic pro x, the midi notes' pitches will randomly drift up and down. I am using an Akai MPK249 but I think the problem is with the synth or logic itself.

If anyone knows how to solve this I'd be extremely grateful.

As with all systems analytics, try to measure where the error is. In this case, you have to try to access your MIDI signal path: Device -> Interface -> Computer -> Logic

Go to the MIDI environment (Window > Open MIDI Environment) and set up a Monitor object in your input path. This will show you the notes coming from your AKAI MIDI device. You will then be able to tell whether the drift comes from there or is within Logic.

One guess is that you have a faulty pitch modulation wheel on your keyboard.

Also, if you are running the MIDI first through another interface, see whether you can swap the interface out.

The MIDI interface is a bit cumbersome to use, good luck with the manual. I have never had the time to figure it out properly.
