Q: Mail rules have no effect since Yahoo

I am tired of going to my "junk" folder to find emails that should have ended up in my inbox. I even created special "rules". No effect. Some go to the inbox, most end up in junk. The only domain that does this is Disqus. And the problem started as soon as I moved from gmail to Yahoo mail. I even created the same rules in Yahoo. No effect.

I am going to move to Airmail and see if that's any better.

    Hi SteveShapiro,

I understand that despite configuring mail rules, you are still seeing messages wrongly end up in your Junk folder. I know it's important to take control of your mail, so I'm happy to help.

When viewing the message in the Junk folder, right-click or ctrl+click the message and choose Mark > As Not Junk Mail. If the message continues to be wrongly filtered after that, then it may be the Yahoo server that is filtering it, in which case you'd want to use modify your settings in Yahoo Mail. I've found this article which should help:

An email was wrongly filtered as spam | Yahoo Help - SLN4910

I have done both of those. I changed the rules in Yahoo mail. And I marked every one as "not junk". No effect. Tried another email client. Same thing too. I am going to try and change back to gmail.

I had to drop yahoo mail. And that solved the problem. I tried another email client (airmail) for  the Mac and it did exactly the same thing. So I had to assume it was already labeled "spam" before it got to me. Although, it was only some messages. Others from the same sender were never marked that way. And putting "rules" on my Yahoo account had no effect.

So, Gmail works just fine. Oh well...

    Thanks for the effort.
