Q: No notifications for Messages after update

After the ios 10.0.2 update on my iPhone 6+ I no longer get either a vibration or a sound notification when I have a new text message.  Yes, it's enabled in the settings, and no, Do Not Disturb is not activated.  Spoke to another person today with the same problem.  Solutions?  Thx.

    Hello charles from el dorado,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that after updating to iOS 10.0.2, your iPhone 6s Plus no longer receives message notifications. I know notifications are an important part of being able to respond swiftly. I am happy to help.

If you haven't already, I recommend restarting the phone. This can resolve many unexpected behaviors. Use the steps below.

    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

If the issue persists, it's possible there's an issue with the settings. Resetting all settings will take these settings back to default, including Wi-Fi networks and passwords, Wallpaper, Sounds, Date & Time, removing Touch ID & Passcode, and removing Apple Pay card. Even though no content is lost with this step, it's a good idea to back up first. Use the link below to assist with backing up.
How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Once you've backed up, reset all settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

    Have an amazing day!
