Oct 11, 2016 5:09 PM in response to dianeoforegonby Doren_Sean_Michael,I know, but that's still irrelevant because it worked perfectly the moment before Sierra was installed. I would only assume since this thread doesn't have hundreds or thousands of users complaining that it is indeed in our User Folders, but since no Crash Logs are generated it would be very difficult to still diagnosis. Correct? Or I could be completely wrong. LOL Thanks!

Mac OS XAwesome! I actually have started to use Postbox with no issues whatsoever, but I prefer Mail.app so I also hope that the next Sierra update fixes the issue. Wish I still had my Developer's OS account. Ugh.

Mac OS XAnyone can choose to enroll in the macOS beta program, though typically beta system software releases are best reserved for advanced users to run on their non-primary hardware.

Mac OS XThere are options to fix. Most users will only be convinced to try the options when they find out the problem is in their User's folder and not a problem with Sierra.

Mac OS XI chatted with Apple Support today. He thought it is something on Godaddy's server side. Praised dianeoforegon on her steps and advice. Agreed I've tested a new user by trying another Mac and setting up mail fresh. Case not closed in my mind. I do not want to contact Godaddy, I feel it will be ping pong blame game. ;l
Has anyone contacted GoDaddy Support?

Mac OS XI had actually contacted GoDaddy today about another issue & also decided to ask about this "Recovered Messages" issue. The tech had no explanation why the IMAP email would be doing that all of a sudden, he asked if I had changed anything on my iMac, well, duh, yes, installing Sierra. Let the ping-pong begin. Very frustrating.

Oct 17, 2016 10:16 AM in response to Patrick Gamble 85020by cmincr,Same problem on a Late 2015, iMac 27" 5K updated to MacOS Sierra 10.12.
Deleted IMAP messages on multiple GoDaddy accounts reappear in a series of newly-appeared, account-specific "Recovered Messages" folders in the "On My Mac" section.
In a separate thread a Community expert suggested disk repair, display check, safe mode, etc. I performed all of those tests (no errors) and deleted IMAP messages continued to appear in Recovered Messages while booted to Safe Mode. The problem is quite repeatable.

Oct 17, 2016 11:44 AM in response to Patrick Gamble 85020by kfresh,I'm also having the same issue and I use GoDaddy for work. At least it's not just me. I just empty it as it seems to be my emails that I delete. I've also been having issues with the mail image cache not clearing very quickly (sometimes takes as long as a day no matter how many times I restart). I tried deleting the cache.db folder the same as in previous OS's but that doesn't seem to work anymore. In all my years, I've never had this many issues with Mail.

Mac OS XEveryone needs to send Apple feedback. Reporting here does not get to Apple. This is a community discussion list where users help other users.

Mac OS XI did my part and filled out the feedback. I sent in a request for support again and did not hear anything new.

Mac OS XYou will most likely never hear back from feedback. It's used to gather info NOT to start a conversation.
If you need support you have to go to this link to setup a support call.
