Hold down the command and option keys while starting FCP X. A dialog will appear. Click "Delete Preferences".

Oct 1, 2016 2:25 PM in response to BASAtheboltonacademyby justfinethanku,yes!!! I ended up color-grading my text because I am a crazy person. Re-installing FCPX right now to see if that resolves anything. I will trash the preferences in a moment as well. Sierra is evil.
