Black exec file flashed - what does it mean?

Hello!

This is first it has happened to me. Was was rotating big image file (3.5 MB, 2500 × 3504, scanned, saved from external HDD) and closed it, having it save the new position (it was on sideways previously). And suddenly, there was black file with some random numbers and letters I couldn't see quick enough to figure out if it was related to the picture. Only saw it likely had word "exec" in it.

So, could it have been related to the big image? I tried again to rotate it and nothing happened.

Is it normal to have black files with name "exec" in it appear suddenly on desktop, then disappear few seconds later? I can't seem to find good enough articles about how "exec" files act in Mac.

You may find a few clues about the occurrence, from near the time of its happening

by looking into the Console utility log files. There also may be a crash log about it.

Sounds like something that may have generated a crash log or kernel log file; as

the result of running out of system resources, or other combined issue/failure.

Perhaps there may be a way to find a copy of that report or screen information.

Not sure how; there are persons who occasion here who probably know, though.

Sorry to not be of much exacting help...! 🙂

Thank you for the kind thoughts...

The Console has several areas that may overlap with log reports you

can see in access point through system profile or system information.
