Sep 29, 2016 9:16 AM in response to kerochanby JimmyCMPIT,they look like a righteous set of monitors, but the problem with an audiophiles is unless it's a '59 strat at some point you will eventually see something else that sends a chunk of your old gear to craigs-list for some something smaller, better and louder, or worse; vintage and priced for auction at Sotheby's

Sep 29, 2016 9:24 AM in response to JimmyCMPITby kerochan, yeah, ya right there, my old late 70s Telecaster is worth 10 ten times what I paid for it now!
But I just sold a G4 tower/screen & Pro Tools 6, cost £3000 13 years ago, just sold for £30.00!!
thats 100x less than I paid for it!

Sep 29, 2016 9:35 AM in response to kerochanby midnighte13,★HelpfulEssentially, mix cubes serve the purpose of giving you the sound that an average user will be listening with. In the industry, we lovingly call then sh*tbox speakers. Why? Cause they sound like your typical bookshelf system or crappy car stereo. If your mix sounds good on them, they should sound good on any system.
Always start out your mix with your mains, in this case your Genelecs. Use the mix cubes as reference when your mix is pretty well put together. Use them to make your adjustments, but always go back to your mains as well. I have a pair and they've served me well for years. Sweetwater will get you what you need as recommended below. Tim Harrington is my guy. He can get you in the right direction.

Sep 29, 2016 9:36 AM in response to kerochanby JimmyCMPIT,I band sawed my '78 strat so I could make the cut-away work for a lefty, not the best modification in retrospect. Enjoy that Tele, I have a G&L that I have resisted any further enhancements to Leo's original vision.
and to reiterate on sweetwater, they are not only great go work with, they are great after you make your purchase as well. It's a rare thing and I value their ethic.
