After updating iPad air to iOS 10.0.0 then 10.0.2 on Sept. 14th, I have been unable to sync to my Mac Pro 1,1 which is limited to Lion 10.7.5.
When I get my updates in iTunes 12.2.2 there no transfer to the iPad since that day, and my iPad file saves normally save to the computer but seem to not of taken place.
Blue tooth is connected and the iPad connects to WiFi.
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi. You may need iTunes 12.5.1 for full support of iOS 10.

Thanks for replying, unfortunately every time I try to update Safari on my Mac I get the message that 12.2.2 is the latest version and at the App Store could not find any update to Safari I think because it now is free with the operating system and the Mac Pro I have is version 1,1 and it does not allow me to update the operating system. I would love to buy a new machine except this one cost around $6,000 then I had to buy the Screen etc and it works fine until I updated the iPad.

Hi. You are referring to Safari while I meant iTunes 12.5.1. As indicated here Apple - Support - Downloads it supports iOS 10.
I believe Lion is your problem. The current version of iTunes has these requirments:

That implies you need OS 10.9 or higher, something a Mac Pro 1,1 cannot handle
In 2012 I know the min OS requirement for synch was10.6.8 so it would not be surprising if Apple has moved up the bar in the last four years.
Thanks Alan I kinda figured that had something to do with it, I guess my only option other than buying an iMac is to backup the iPad to iCloud every so often, it's sad when I figure how good the Mac Pro is.

As Apple tends to hide such tidbits of important info lately (took me a while to find what I could) I would drop by an Apple Store and get their opinion before abandoning a fine old Mac Pro.
