Switch Apple ID

I recently switched my Apple ID because of a new email address and I was able to get my iPhone to change the ID. However, on my iPod the old Apple ID is still signed in and I cannot log out of it because I don't remember the password. I tried to reset the password but because I changed to a new Apple ID it no longer recognizes the old email. Is there anyway to get the old Apple ID off of my iPod?
