Why does Final Cut Pro X produce green screen when rendering hi-res images..?

As per heading - when zooming and moving across hi-res images using Ken Burns effect and cross-dissolves, I keep getting green screen static / garbage when saving the Master File 😟 It sometimes happens during previewing, but certainly not as bad as the exported video.

No overlays, just one track of images placed one after the other on the timeline. No video being used either.

I've tried closing FCPX, trashing all previous Render Files, reopening FCPX, allowing new Render Files to be created from scratch and that makes no difference. Any idea what's causing this..?

Hi Tom

It's a late 2011 13" MBP - 2.4GHz i5 - 16GB Memory - Intel HD 3000 512MB - 1TB Hybrid Drive

Exporting to 1920 x 1080 @ 25fps (oddly enough, exporting direct to YouTube produced different and less frequent green screens - the example video has been subsequently uploaded from Master File).

JPG image sizes are 5184 x 3456 (wanted to keep the resolution as high as possible for zooms and pans) - 44 images at around 4MB per image.
